Day 35. Baseball Spring Training around the corner!
Day 35. Baseball Spring Training around the corner!
So today marks 35 days. I know i can NOT drink. I have proven it to myself day by day over the past year.
My sober days have outnumbered the drinking ones by a wide margin...Though there have been some of those as well, but i need to believe i have LEARNED and PROGRESSED in my recovery as a result of them.
I keep getting asked by my sponsor & recovery after care members. What are you passionate about? What do you enjoy doing?
In one word. BASEBALL. Everything about the sport. The stats. The plays. The players. The teams. I have a life long passion towards this game that goes back to me watching the games with my grandfather when i was very young.
Spring Training is coming around soon. And just thinking/looking forward to it all starting up again has brought some serenity and happiness to my day.
I've learned it's important to remain connected to what you are passionate about. Some people express through ART, MUSIC, etc.
For me it's this sport. BASEBALL. Always has been. Always will be.
The excitement for spring training is here again. That being said i know i'm in the right frame of mind.
I wish you all a safe day. And i hope we all remain connected to whatever passion drives us to succeed/move forward.
Thanks SR.
