Day 8
Day 8
I never expected this after failing so often, but today is day 8! The difference between failing all the time and succeeding this time is that I don't simply want it. I put in the effort too. That was the missing link,
It's getting easier. I have a question though. Is it possible for physical withdrawal symptoms to start a little later? I slept well, my initial withdrawal symptom of being tired is gone. But this morning I woke up with nausea and it's still there. And I have a headache as well.
It could be unrelated, but I'm just wondering if it could be withdrawal symptoms.
But then still, they're so mild, I'm not bothered by them.

Congrats on Day 8!
It takes 90+ days for brain chemistry to normalize after persistent alcohol use. Wouldn't be surprised if some people had physical effects as a result. If it lasts more than a few days maybe see your doctor.

Great job on 8 days, ZPQX.
Headaches were part of my early sobriety - persisted for weeks (nothing that ibuprofen didn't relieve). Headaches tend to give me a little nausea anyway.
Lethargy and foggy-brain were my most persistent and problematic symptoms - both lasting about six months at which time I experienced gradual but consistent improvement.

Thanks. That's good to know. I have an appointment with my doctor next Tuesday so I can mention everything then.

Thanks. This time I decided to imagine what I want my life to be like and then looked at what I needed to do to create that life. Then I started doing the things necessary. So instead of there being an empty spot where being drunk used to be, I'm now working step-by-step to make my life the way I want it to be.
