Struggling tonight

Work was really stressful today, and I hate my job. My schedule is so busy its hard to look for another job. I woke up happy, and by the end of the day my job leaves me negative and deflated/less resilient. It put me in a bad mood - and it makes me notice the cold weather/crowds more. I am just tired of dealing with everything.

I made it home, but I still am fighting the urge to drink.

I think work should be like hockey, somebody upsets you. You smack around for awhile and then sit in a box for a few minutes.

Its the workload/being short staffed, don't have any problems with co-workers.

You're home. Shelter from the storm and the stresses of the day. You've left work behind, now leave the thought of drinking behind.

Anewday...glad you made it home! I was thinking about you today, packmate...i know this is the hardest part of the week for you and I'm so glad that you're here posting and getting the support you deserve instead of at the bar piling on the regrets!

Completely understand the workload problem so many companies get themselves into. Several of my co-workers are miserable these days...makes it hard to stay sober for many.

Stay strong!

Thanks everyone - I feel a little bit less stressed out now that I am home. My apartment is the safest place for me since I don't keep alcohol here/my main temptation is bars. As long as I stay in my apartment - I will stay sober. Just need to relax/take it easy.

I am going to try the urge surfing technique. I appreciate the support from everyone.

I know drinking is not the right thing to do - just feel agitated/in a bad mood I guess. I hate when I get in these sort of moods.

I am on day 10 and I have found things hard too, we can do this. We are free, alcoholism is the prison. Everyday sober means we can live the life we deserve.

I learned to negotiate stress eventually without booze - it takes a little while but you'll find what healthy alternative works for you ANewDay

For now you're getting through, and not drinking. That's looking like a win to me
