3 days sober

Hi, I am new to this sight. I am proud to say I am 3 days sober. I was one who enjoyed having my 6 pack or more of beer each night. I finally decided I wanted to make a change for 2015.

I can relate to the six packs. The only six pack I want now, is the one replacing my beer gut.

Welcome Zona. Giving up that six pack plus a night a habit means getting rid of a two thousand beer a year weight tied around you, pulling you down! Congrats on the three days and keep up the good work!

Thank you for the welcomes. I am actually feeling pretty good for not having any beers for 3 days. I have been dealing with anxiety for the last 6 months and I think that is what really made me want to quit. I was drinking more and more to try and self medicate me. I am finally seeing a therapist on Friday for my anxiety and I wanted to be sober. I just praying my anxiety doesn't hit me to hard in the next few days.

Glad you're here zona!

Booze actually made my anxiety so much worse! I've been sober thirty days and my anxiety is so much lower now!

Sobriety is a choice you won't regret!

Welcome and congrats on three days Zona. It's a huge decision and you've come to the right place if you are looking for support or advice on this journey. You won't find a more open or welcoming community on the net.

I have been dealing with general anxiety and insomnia for almost 6 months straight now. Been drinking a lot longer.. My question is how long will it take for me to feel better without drinking. I was worried that my drinking was making my anxiety worse but now I am worried my anxiety will get worse without alcohol. Is there anyone else that feels this way?
