That's a good one. I love stories that help me to further set aside judgements I may make, not even realizing I'm judging . Thank you for posting it.

Now THAT was nice. It reminds me of the biblical story of the poor widows offering. I've never cited the bible here but, it's relevant, and it's Christmas!

Here it is paraphrased.

"And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two small coins. And he called his disciples, and said to them, This poor widow has cast more in, than all the rich people which have cast into the treasury."

Thanks soberwolf

Well that was a lovely story to see on Christmas day (a hour left of it here in Western Canada). Lovely story anyday really. I must say I don't find it all that surprising...

My brother is a retired police officer. Many years ago he was involved in some very intensive undercover training which found him and another officer having to pose as street people in Vancouver's lower eastside. During the course of whatever they were doing (it was many years ago ..so details are fuzzy) an obvious homeless woman approached them. She (like the guy in the story perhaps) had had a good day and wanted to share. She gave my brother and his partner money to go get themselves something to eat. They tried to refuse but she would have no part of. She said that she had been fortunate and wanted to help others... I never forgot that story. At the time, they couldn't break their "cover" and they took the money due to her dogged insistence. I know after their work was done..they tried to find her to give her money. But they never found her...

Wow cool. When I was at the Salvation Army to work temporarily I overheard some downtrodden people talking amongst themselves, getting excited over some bread. It would break a heart of stone in two. People who have never been seriously behind on their bills don't understand how hard it is to get up once you're down.
Anyway, thank you for sharing this sweet story!
