doing stuff sober

I did some house work tonight that I haven't done sober in a long time; it was boring and unfamiliar but I got through it; I have 4 today and I do like being able to remember what I the next morning

Congrats on 4 days sober!

When I was drinking, I rarely did housework. I did the bare minimum so I wasn't wallowing around in filth, but I did even that grudgingly. I don't think I ever even realized how much I neglected my home.

When I came back from detox/IOP, I looked around and thought to myself...Good God, Suki! How did you live like this?? I'm happy to say that now, I do some daily and always weekend cleaning. I'm not ashamed to have anyone come inside my home anymore.

It's funny how alcohol can affect people differently. Once I started drinking, I was pretty much done for the day. I didn't want to do anything that might interfere with my drinking.

Stinkerdoodle was my heart for 15 years. She had never been sick a day in her life until she developed mammary cancer. I had to let her go this past August.

Suki, sorry about your sweet Stinkerdoodle
Animals give us so much. I don't know how I would have gotten through these last three months without my silly, sweet puppies.

Congrats on day 4! That's great. I used to try cleaning while intoxicated and it didn't work too well. I'd get sidetracked and lose focus. The house was a wreck. Nowadays I can't say it's company ready and my kids are little barbarians but I at least care now what it looks like even if it isn't perfect. Before I just couldn't be bothered. Keep going!

Suki I know the feeling, 2 years ago i had to let a cat go who was 18 years, that i saw be born, and a 15 year old on the same day; but my furry friends help me make it through a lot of stuff; right now i have 6 of my own, and 4 rescues i am trying to find homes for; 2 of which were born feral and rescued at 12-14 days old; Ruby, love your torti; i have one that is 1 and a half that i bottle raised from 4 weeks old;

I'm sorry that happened, Patty. What can you do differently this time to make it work for you?
