Day 10 Check in

Day 10 is here and I woke up today feeling good. Since I missed my work Christmas party I ended up getting my secret santa gift last night at work. The person didn't know what to get me so she asked around to see what the best gift would be. It seems that everyone thought a bottle of tequila and shot glasses would be ideal for me. It kinda made me feel down that when they think of what I like, liquor comes to mind. I ended up "re-gifting" it and gave it away. I'm not going to give in and I couldn't take it home with me.

I've been waking up feeling good, full of energy. My mind is clearer and I haven't had any real cravings. In the past, the cravings really start around the end of the second week. So I'll probably be on here quite a bit more, posting. Thanks for everyone's support so far.

Great job getting rid of temptation! I've made the other choice in the past and wound up either regtetting it or pouring most of it down the drain.

10 days is a good start, keep going

Congrats on day 10 jayman. Nice work on the re-gifting. Please don't be too hard on yourself about receiving the tequila and shot glasses. There are many people without a problem relationship with alcohol who enjoy fine wine, beer and spirits; so it can be a natural gift idea when someone doesn't know what else to buy. The problem isn't the alcohol, it's us and how we respond to it. Have a wonderful holiday season. :-)

I wouldn't take the gift too personally. I buy alcohol for people when I don't know what else to give. In fact, I'm giving some this year too.
