Lying alone...

In bed, after a long and stressy day just a few days before Christmas.

Times like this, I admit, my life STILL can sure seem unmanageable.

But I'm sober. Exhausted. Stressed. Weary. But sober.

Alone with my thoughts and my quiet sleeping house..... My little girls slumbering in their rooms.... Fully aware and able to breathe deeply and be grateful.

Lying alone tonight, I am so glad to be sober. So glad for AA and for all of you here....

Happy Holidays everyone. Wherever you may be in the journey of sobriety, may you find ever more strength, goodness, beauty and joy in it.

Lovely post Freeowl. It gave me much comfort and solace to read it this morning

I can relate as have also had a very stressful few days and very nearly drank on Friday night. But I didn't and still sober even though again today my life seemed unmanageable.
