Hi.
Unfortunately no one can get you sober.
There are some things that are almost “requirements” to get and stay sober for yourself.
We need to be honest with ourselves about our own drinking.
We need to ACCEPT the fact we cannot drink in safety in the future no matter what.
We need a plan to get sober and stay sober. These forum pages help many IF we seriously want to be sober.
AA has helped millions recover and stay sober.
Many programs work when we work them and follow the program every day for years a day at a time in a row.
It’s a deadly miserable disease we have and many can’t/won’t follow the directions that will work if we work them. It’s that simple, and may require hand holding in difficult moments of which many are available if we reach out.
BE WELL

I can hear the pain & sadness in your post. You & only you can make you stop drinking. Keep coming back & keep posting. I have found that posting on this site helps me stay accountable. We are here for you. (((hugs)))

Hi MS, sorry to hear you are struggling. I think what Artfriend and others mean is that you need a plan to stop drinking. We can help and support you, but you have to put some kind of plan into action for yourself.
Have you been sober before ? I see you joined this site some years ago. I don't know your history, but if you are not managing to stay sober, whatever you were doing is not working and you need to create another plan and keep doing that until you find one that works.
We all want to see you get sober.
Janiej.

Please consider this. If tackling it alone was doable, you would have done it. Reach out, get help...real help.
For me I needed to change something about my plan, continually doing the same thing and expecting the outcome to be any different was never going to happen.
How about more support? using SR not only when you slip but as a daily tool? meetings? something different to produce new results!!
You can do this, but a new approach is needed!!

Hi ms980619
Not sure what you've tried in the past but there's many different approaches and methods of recovery around - here's some links to some of the main players, including but not limited to AA:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...formation.html
I recommend you visit the Secular Connections forum if you think you may benefit from a non 12 step approach.
The main thing tho - whatever you decide to do - is do something, yeah?
