New here not to recovery
Hi my name is dani. I am 96 days clean from alcohol and all drugs. Over 7 months from my doc heroin. Found this site and thought I'd check it out. I ruined my life with my heroin use after my dad commited suicide 5 years ago. I lost my career, my husband, my house, car, and my freedom at one point. I was homeless living in a tent for a full year until I went to jail for a possession case and was sent to treatment. That was the best thing that happened to me. On 4/30/14 was the last time I touched heroin. I now have an apartment, a job, am almost completed drug court, I have a sponsor, I go to meetings and I am happy to be alive again.
Hey Dani- A big welcome & a big congrats on the 96 days!!!
Sounds as if you've had a few addictive experiences in the past. It also sounds as if that's all behind you and you're moving forward, which is great. What's done is done, and we all have had our share of problems as well. That's what this site is all about- moving forward.
This site if fantastic for support, and I really look forward to seeing you around.

In a meeting not long ago, I heard someway say the impediments to their sobriety - Thank God, had been removed. Many of the things you mentioned losing.....
Keep up the hard work......So happy you're here with us!
I have seen drug court work in our community - No doubt. It can give someone who becomes willing another chance.
Warm Regards,
