The Sober Revolution
The Sober Revolution
...so, I'm reading this book. Finally came to the part about how quitting drinking creates a lot of "thinking time" and "doing time". Time is always what scares me the most. I've been trying to remember all the things I used to fill my time with before drinking, and crafts have always been my go-to activity.
Last night I called everyone I know who don't drink on the weekends (not many) to try to make some plans for this Saturday/Sunday. Everyone's busy. Then from out of the blue my son sent me a message late last night asking if he could spend the weekend at my place. Finally fell asleep happy about having some company and thinking maybe I'll finally get around to try some quilting. Everything I need has been stuffed under my bed for over 5 years. Finally starting to feel a little creative again. Just hope my hands stop shaking by Friday...
Day 3 - wildly optimistic.

Stella, I understand the feeling creative again part. Today being day 24 for me the itch to start building something is coming on. I was creative when drinking, but in a lazy sense that all revolved around drinking. I build stuff out of beer cans to support buying beer, lol. Well holiday season is coming and am just waiting for the commemorative coke cans to come out so I can get a jump on the biplanes which last year netted a good chunk of change for the holidays. I also have been doing flea markets and antique shows the past couple years which has grown unbelievably this past year. Started with a mini van, then a mid size, then to a full size cargo pulling a 16ft trailer taking up 2 to 4 spots at shows. Hoping that Christmas this year will net enough for me to buy a 30 + foot trailer that I can just turn into a mobile showroom that I can just pull in and minimal set-up and start selling. Ideas are just running through my mind as I am basically bored just waiting to go to a meeting when not at work.
Congrats on the 3 days!
