That's been a month sober, then the doctor hit me with a shocker!

Hi All,

Sorry not been on much i have been keeping busy, i am learning guitar, playing the PlayStation and working most nights to keep me busy.

Everything was going great feeling better apart from the issues with racing heart etc and then i go back for my 6 week blood update and my liver is getting worse.

He wants another month drink free to see if it was cause by an anti biotic but i feel like giving up last times the 2 tests which concerned him were 65 and 154 and now there 74 and 167.

I feel like giving up, he said it was a good sign that they recently done an untrasound and seen no changes but i am meant to be getting better not worse

Hope everyone is good.

I'd try and think of it this way Tambdy - drinking again won't make those numbers better - but sobriety just might?

Drink plenty of water.

Back in 2008

My numbers didn't improve immediately but by about 6 months they were close to "normal"

Thanks guys, i was really just in shock i can't believe they went up. I guess at least knowing the ultrasound is ok means there is no scaring yet and if they are still going up by next time they can look at why it is.

It's a healing process.

If you've ever had a bad cut or burn, you'll know they look / get worse before they get better.

The liver is probably the same. At least that's what I figured when mine got a little worse before getting better.

The Doc didn't venture an opinion, but I knew from his apparent lack of concern, that he obviously wasn't worried, so I wasn't either.
