Question Hi from a Newbie

This is my first post.
I stumbled across this site whilst seeking information on recovering from addiction.
I have a partner (four months) who is a recovering heroin addict. Whilst I have deep feelings for my partner when he is 'norm' mode, I am beginning to feel trapped as he is more in the 'abnorm' mode than he is the 'norm' mode.
He is highly anxious, very aggressive and harms himself often.
I am experiencing great difficulty coping with his unstable behaviour, let alone helping him.
I'm hoping to gain insight into what/how my man is feeling, and what I can do to help him.

Thanks for reading, Cheers.

JayJay, that sucks. A very difficult place for you to be.

Check out and post to the friends and family subforum; you will get a lot of support and feedback there:

Welcome, jay jay! Get help yourself and please, please call for help for your partner when he is self harming. It's too heavy for you todo it alone.
