Drinking dreams…holy cow!

I had a bizarre dream last night where drinking was the focal point. To sum up a long boring dream; I ended up with a old girlfriend I would always party with downtown. I new I was going to be late for work and was stressed out about it but all of a sudden ended up with a six pack of beer in my hand. After that I surrendered to just not going to the work that day or the next and was on some bizarre hunt for a bottle of wine I left at someone's house- knowing that the beer wash't going to get me drunk enough.

I woke up completely freaked out but was quickly relieved when I realized I was sober and in my bed. Gave me the creeps all morning. Is this normal?

Thanks Finding, it was crazy how detailed it was and how I was already on a mission to get the type of booze and drunk that I wanted. (want)

Hey MissOverIt-

I had those too, and still do on occasion. I also had them years ago after I quit smoking as well.

Those dreams where you awake, just relieved that it was in fact a dream. I even remember being very upset myself while still in the dream because I was drinking again and I could not remember when I started again. -Awoke relieved!~

yes it is normal. sometimes I also had a "taste" in my mouth when I awoke as well. I assume it is the addiction unwinding. I had dreams for about 6 months on an off. Have not had one for a long time.

Interesting stuff, thank you for commenting!

Lusher, I was really upset with myself in the dream too.

I'm at 4 months, and have been having those too. Taste and all. Like others said it seems to be part of the process for most of us.
