Red face Always salty but now all I want is sweets!

I've always been a salty, cheesy, savory type of girl, never sweets, I've probably had one bite of one of my kids' cakes in 12 years but now all I want is sweets since I've been sober, I just ate a huge bag of sour patch kids, I have bags of halloween chocolate candy in my fridge, stuff stashed in my bedroom, on my computer desk, in my truck, EVERYWHERE!!! lol. I lost 45lbs over the past year, in the past 3 weeks, I've gained back 8. Whoops lol

I don't need the weight gain though, I just lost 45lbs of my original 80lbs of baby weight! lol I have been eating a lot more too but since I just had a hyster I can't get back to my exercising, I'm sure once I get my ok it will come off again. I'm not too worried, I just think its funny how a lot of alcoholics when they stop drinking crave sugar lol

I know, same. Never had a sweet tooth, in fact I never even had any chocolate/sweets/cake etc in my home. Now, Im obsessed with ice cream hahaha!! Well, it is certainly not damaging my body (LIVER!!!!) like alcohol would so it's okay

one of my huge cravings right now is apples dunked in caramel dip, seems healthy enough, but not when I finish half a tub with a tiny apple. ha ha! the apple cancels the fat out right?

I can relate! I have never been a sweets person but since I've been in sobriety I would gladly take anything sugary over my usual faves! I always prided myself on never having to eat dessert but now it's all I want! I too have gained about 10 lbs. but I'm losing it by planning my sweets. I keep a huge frozen bag of frozen berries and cans of fat free Redi Whip(only 200 calories for the whole can) and eat that every night before bedtime!

I ate a lot of sweets, particularly dark chocolate, in my first year. The desire for it went away tho and now my appetite for sweets is back to normal - once in a while.
