I survived the swaying tower of death, I can do anything
I scheduled for a day labor job today framing, well turns out they canceled. So needing the money I stick around the office for 2 hours for "anything" well something came up. What I didn't know at the time is it was going to take me 40 ft up in a scissor lift with one side missing so you " can work" assembling warehouse shelving.
One of my only fears in life is heights, but pictured the daughter held of for dear life buckled in like a good boy and got on the swaying tower of death. Guy says ya its a got a little sway to it, but not bad, then he stops and we go about a foot forward and then a foot back, if that a little sway I never want a lot. They were building a brand new warehouse so did I mention there was little light, looked like a cave in inside with blinking forklift lights and scisor lifts everywhere.
Its weird this is typically a situation where I would of had anxiety or panic or possibly a panic attack. However, I practiced breathing would only look forward never down, and kept telling myself you got a wife and a daughter. Surprisingly I had a few tense moments once where I made the guy go down, but overall everything was good.
I figure if I can survive the swaying tower of death, and the 40 ft cave of doom and tropical heat, I can survive sobriety. It felt good quitting smoking, it felt good quitting alcohol and it feels good to know I did this ( they asked me to comeback tomorrow but this was a bit much for me) and it was overall a confidence builder. Who knew getting sober would positively affect other area's of my life. Whilst drinking, there is no way I would have ever done this job.
Good day folks, glad I got to talk to you, didn't think I would survive the swaying tower of death, and have a good day, evening, night all. If sobriety is your swaying tower of death you can do it, just hold on tight and don't look down. Oh and ignore the construction guy laughing at you, its going to be alright!

I'm with Anna. You are truly a hero. I'm in awe of how you push yourself to be your personal best. It's the true testimony of what it means to live a purpose driven life. And your willingness to be vulnerable is refreshing on so many levels.
Bravo our friend. Bravo !
