Hello everyone,
I didn't know I was an alcoholic until my (now "ex") alcoholic boyfriend told me so. I was terrified of quitting because when I was sober, I knew he was right.
I have quit several times before, but this time seems different. I want to be sober! I did not have any significant withdrawal symptoms-is this common? It is not easy, though, because the clearer thinking has unmasked the pain and regrets. Without my friend alcohol, I feel my feelings again, including joy, happiness, and optimism-feelings that had become unfamiliar.
