I live in st. Louis and feeling sad
This is absolutely crazy that this is happening where I live! I'm so sad that all this publicity will cause such a negative view of St. Louis. Our town is fairly segregated although I'm white and live in a prominently black area. I'm so glad I have a closeness with my high power because I an praying and know I will be heard.
I grew up near your area. It's saddening and disheartening to hear about what's going on there. Shooting violence is rising in NYC too, with a dozen people injured over this weekend. I wish your city finds more peace & soon.
I was listening to a radio program today where they compared 2 postcodes in St Louis, and the life expectancy difference was 18 years. You can see how segregated the social demographics are, even if you don't couch it in racial terms.
I do have some sympathy for police everywhere because of the chance that people they interact with may be carrying high powered or assault rifles. It's got to make them jumpy. But that's not a comment on this specific case. I'm from Australia so not invested in the social and other issues.
