Last drink
Hello and welcome.
I had my last drink a hundred times. I hope sobriety sticks with you and you are able to abstain.
You'll find lots of support here, so keep reading and posting.
Best to you and congratulations on your decision to quit.

Welcome to SR!
These first few days can be tough but stick with it and don't pick up a drink today.
Lots of help and support right here. Keep posting and break down today until small sections if you have cravings.

Welcome Georgi. In the early days keeping busy was very helpful for me - even just simple tasks like cleaning up around the house or yard, taking a walk, etc. Make sure you are drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods if you can.
Another option is to go to a recovery meeting of some kind ( AA, NA, Smart, Celbrate Recovery, etc ). Being around other like-minded people can really help.
Stay strong, and whatever you do don't pick up that first drink!

Hi Georgi, welcome
The thoughts in your head... do you mean cravings and thoughts of drinking? There is a technique you can use called Urge Surfing that you might want to look into. It's about being mindful of your thoughts but not acting on them. Accepting them for what they are... harmless thoughts.
Doing some positive things right now can really help... can you do some productive things around your house, maybe exercise, clean, or focus on doing some things you might enjoy? Distraction has its place especially in very early sobriety. It can get your mind off things and back onto doing something productive and useful that will boost your self-esteem.

Best of luck Georgi. What helped me most was reading as many threads / posts on SR as I could in the beginning. I realized that if others could fight this battle, then I had a chance as well.
Post as much as you need to avoid drinking. What ever you do, just don't drink. Easier said than done, but it gets easier with time, and so worth the effort.

Just know that most everyone of us had that same problem, and probably still do. I am only on day 5 but had a sneaky thought drop on me suddenly out of nowhere yesterday on the way home. Sometimes they can be very intense. Just know that is to be expected. The more you fight those urges the more empowered you will become!! Great work and stay stong!

I forgot but ccam1973 said it. That's what I have been doing for weeks before I had enough last Friday. I would read others stories and struggles at work and on Sundays, that was the only times I didnt drink. After awhile it puts this disease in perspective in terms of the struggle and destruction. You def not alone by a far shot!
