You can also post daily in the 24 hour recovery connections thread in daily support forum. I commit once a day to another 24 hours sober.

Try to make a plan for the weekend. Maybe put it in writing, like a to-do list. Make sure you stick with it no matter what. Stay busy. It helps me to come up with some kind of routine. Keeps me physically and mentally busy.

I have not posted for a while, because I did fail at the weekend. I am happy to say now that I have now made it to two weeks without a drink. I now think I can start to tackle my weight gain.

About those nagging thoughts of drinking. I know what you mean. They can be real sneaky, and before you know it, your standing in a liquor store before you know it.
As I said before, stay REAL BUSY. Give your mind something else to think about. Find as many distractions as you can. Make a plan to lose the weight you talked about and stick with it. Stick with SR, AA or any other support system you are comfortable with. Avoid making excuses on putting these things off. That's your AV playing tricks on you. I had to force myself (and still do), to do things to stay busy and get out of my head. I know it's easier said than done, but it was, and still is very important to me if I don't want to go back to day 1.
Good luck
