I am so tempted right now, I hate this feeling

So I am sick and not feeling well at all. I get sent home from work against my will because I am took sick to work they say.

I get home, I turn on the TV 30 minutes ago and saw a alcohol commercial, you know those commercials that have the slow pour with the narrator talking about how good it is.....

I am not going to drink, my ability to say no is growing stronger, but man am I tempted. I hate these long prtracted cravings, this feeling is hell on earth.

So, time to enact my plan, I am going to make some tea and read the BB or something.

Stay safe and sober, TDG

Hang in there TDG. Earlier this afternoon I had to take in one hour at a time. So far so good.

Hope you're feeling better really soon.

I have faith in you, just get through today and deal with tomorrow when it arrives, it's a simple plan but it is effective when handled correctly.

Hey TDG, so how would you like to feel, or what feelings would you like to have, here and now?

When i'm sick and not feeling well it's not the best time to be making decisions .

When the cravings were high or in pressured situations i always put off making any rash decisions about going back drinking again . By letting it loose into my life again it would take me back to the same old places or worse , i was truly sick to death of that life ..
Certainly it seemed to me a few days or weeks consideration was worthwhile after those hard won sober days .
By doing it in this moderate and considered manner the idea in the round hasn't appealed .

Keep on , m

Keep busy if you can, being sick sucks. Tea sounds like a good idea as well as reading the BB. Call some numbers if you have them too if it gets really bad.

Also remember that of anything you could do, the ONLY choice you could make that would 100% guarantee that things will get worse is drinking. Those commercials don't show the shame, sickness, and guilt you'll be guaranteed to feel if you pick up.

Yeah try your best to do something properly distracting to take your mind off it. Not just watching TV as its easy to get bored/restless. Maybe play a computer game or read. Whatever you find fun really.
