Six Weeks Sober

Today is six weeks without alcohol. Things are going well. I have lost about 6 pounds and I am really feeling good.

I have really been noticing how much alcohol is promoted in the media. Craft beers, brew pubs, wine bars, wine pairings, happy hours, light beers, six packs, cases, taste tests, free lunches, cocktails, wine coolers, bloody marys, mimosas, apertifs, cordials, kegs, magnums, ales, porters, IPA's: there are so many terms for booze and boozing.

As long as I don't take that first drink, I am not missing it too much.

My wife keeps telling me how proud she is of me and has not talked about leaving me lately. Things are good. I have been better able to relate to my son. It is easier to stay calm with his attitude now that I am sober.
