Can A Robot Car Get You Pinched For DUI?
Google car - It drives itself using computers and scanners. There is no steering wheel, no gas pedal. These cars are now legal in some 3-5 states. An avalanche is coming of cars without drivers. If you are riding in one drunk, alone, maybe passed out or in a black out, should/could you be ticketed for a DUI? Will new laws be necessary (RWD) Riding While Distracted?
The answer is probably no, as some of these cars aren't going to have brake/acceleration pedals, so a person can't actually be in control of the car.
The real issue is what happens if there is an actual accident, who's at fault and gets sued, Google? as at the end of day their computer system is making the judgement calls when driving, which is a worrying situation, can a computer account for everything, and fast enough, sensors can't gauge something far away on the horizon of a motorway, something that the human eye can.
It'll never take off in Ireland, there is currently a question mark over the sensors in bad weather, we have rain every few days, and cold temperatures during winter with snow/ice.

If you can afford to buy one of those robot cars, you can afford to call a cab if you are under the influence.
Of course, Scott has the best idea...don't drink in the first place and the entire point is moot.
