hello all. first day here
Just wanted to introduce myself here on the boards. I've spent all day reading articles and really appreciate this resource.
I never thought I drank excessively over the years, but the past few months I've slipped into a cycle of drinking nearly a half bottle of whiskey or vodka a day. When it's not around, and if I still feel terrible, I'd swig some wine from out pantry. Usually about a bottle. No days off the stuff and only sleep and another 8 hours before I'd start again.
Well, I woke up today and decided I can't do it anymore. From passing out randomly or worrying about when/ where I'll get my next drink, I don't want that as my life or for my family.
Today has been rough. Little shaky this morning, I couldn't type on the computer until a couple of hours ago. I'm sticking around the house today and see how I feel in the morning before I decide to pursue a supervised withdrawal.
Just wanted to say hi and thank you for your words of encouragement and experiences shared on the board. I hope to share more with you soon.
