Welcome to SR.
Congrats on deciding to quit.
My tip would be to visit here when you're having any cravings.

Hi and welcome to SR.

Tips on sobriety? Firstly you truly have to want it, it is too hard a battle unless you are 100% focused on the job in hand.

Just be patient with yourself and try to better your lifestyle by eating better too, this certainly helped me in the earliest days.

Wishing you well.

Hello and welcome.
Just don't take that first drink. That's a good one. And remember how you've felt after drinking. The next day, the hangovers and misery. These help keep me sober.

Hi, P93)

Welcome to SR!

Great decision to quit drinking.

Tips?

Start now. Don't be afraid. Clear your house of alcohol. Don't pick up the first drink - it's where it starts. Don't let your AV (addictive voice) talk you into "having just one" -it's all lies and BS.

Identify you triggers - what makes you drink in the first place? Is it boredom, habit, social life, trauma you are trying to numb with alcohol? Drinking has its underlying reasons and detecting them is a big step ahead.

Keep posting. Tell us a little bit about yourself)

Life is much better in sobriety.

Best wishes to you.

Welcome P93

There's a ton of support here

Post around, read, reply to people, ask questions...and, most importantly, come here & reach out when you're feeling like a drink.

Believe in yourself.
When you have some quiet time, write down the pros and the cons of quitting for good.
Think of all the bad things that will change for the better.
The pros will quickly overshadow the cons.
Finally, spend time here at SR. It's priceless.

Tell some people in your life of your decision, they will likely be surprisingly supportive of your decision and may make an effort to help you/not drink around you, as to help with cravings.

I'm so in-tuned to not wanting to drink (almost 2 months now), that I even forgot how to spell the
