Al Anon on "All My Children" July 5th

We have just gotten confirmation that a PSA referring viewers to Al-Anon (recorded by Susan Lucci) will air at the end of the ABC program All My Children on Monday, July 5th.
“How did this happen?" you may ask. About two weeks ago, the producers
called the WSO to let us know that a story line coming up would be
dealing with Erica's alcoholism, and its effects on her family members. They asked if we would work with them on a PSA, and if we would provide some script ideas. Needless to say, we said, "Yes." They fine tuned the script,recorded it, and just this afternoon confirmed the air date.
Please forward this message to your Public Outreach Coordinators, DRs,
AISs and other area servants, so that as many members as possible can have the opportunity to watch!

i think this is a wonderful thing. in rural areas it is not a very well known service that is out there for people. but i do know a lot of people who will have a window of thought opened from this.

I have to say All my children is wonderful about story lines. I am a survivor of Rye- Syndrome and they did a story line with the same charectors Bianca had gotten Rye's They did a supurb job at it. This is why I love this show!! I'll be watching

This is within the guidelines of the traditions. No personal anonymity was broken. WSO approves many PSA's every year, just not usually as high profile as this. How can attraction be achieved without putting information into public forums? The WSO is very careful to review and critique any and all information, literature, and functions to the highest standards of the traditions. I believe this is a wonderful opportunity for information to be offered to many. I will be watching for it. Hugs, Magic
