i finally pulled the trigger.

I'm meeting the person i hope will be my sponsor today. I asked if she'd come with me to a meeting and she said that though she usually doesn't go to a Monday meeting, she's meet me. It blows my mind. This person is disrupting her life for me. I'm so nervous. I have no idea how to approach this. I'm an absolute emotional wreck.

Just do it. Ask for help and accept it. Do what is necessary to get sober for good. You can do this!

I met with her today at a women's meeting today. I kept my trap shut even though we were talking about fear. I need open ears because otherwise, all i can think about is what i'm going to say. I think she knew what i was going to ask because she wasn't surprised at all. Hell, she even seemed enthusiastic! It still boggles my mind how much AA members will go out of their way to help each other.

So i have a question...i am still a bit hungover. I've been invited to the Adventure Club which is a group that goes out to a random meeting within 150 miles of Seattle. I don't want to be "out gassing" while we're confined in a car. My breath is the absolute worst right now.

Go and don't even think twice. Chew some gum or mints and bring extra water so you don't get dehydrated. Listen, learn and enjoy.

Go! It will be fun, just bring some mints with you and some Gatorade. Shoot, Spring it's finally here, it's 60 degree and sunny for once: enjoy. What would be the alternative? Sitting home alone and beating on yourself?

I'm glad you took the plunge DG. Proud of you!

I think you should go too. If so, let us know how it goes.

DG, you want to go, so go!

And, good for you for getting the sponsor you wanted, and it sounds like she will be a good person to know.

I have found the more I did not want to do something in AA the more important it was for me to do it

I have also found I could always rationalize a reason not to do it

congrats on getting over your anxiety. asking was the hardest part.
DO go on the trip. It'll be fun, you'll get to know each other better. And if you're that worried about 'things'. Don't be. Do what others had suggested.

My only suggestion is

Call SHOTGUN!
