I made it through today without alcohol

And it was a very anxious day for me so I am glad. I did eat too much and am worried about weight gain, another obsession I deplore. But I am trying to remind myself that success is in not picking up the bottle.

Superhero! well done...and lots more to come I'm sure. We know we're going to have bad days now and then and it's great to have the confidence to get through them without our favourite prop.

Well done. If I were you, I would not worry much about weight gain at all, at this stage. You can deal with that at later stage. Think about this.. You have already cut down a major calories supply , which was coming in the form of pure sugar from alcohol to your body . Those were empty calories, not giving any kind of nourishment to the body. Now, you are eating proper food. You body will take little time to adjust to it . But for long run, it will re-build your metabolism process.. Keep at it. We are all with you.

Thank you so much. I also appreciate the responses about my concern about weight gain. Drinking and weight take up way too much space in my mind.
