Day 1 again

Hi guys...have realised my drinking has become a problem. Had a drink free summer, started drinking again in September, more and more often, then let myself go completely over the holidays and have been drunk nearly every day since then. Ashamed of the way I'm living my life, especially in regards to my family. Thankfully haven't hit rock bottom but I've put on weight, wasted money and embarrassed myself in social situations. Don't want anything to do with alcohol again, but I know that the desire to get drunk is just so insidious and that it is all too easy to give in to temptation. Wanting today to be a new start for me. Going to try to break the cycle.

Welcome! I've also put on weight, wasted money and embarrassed myself- thank god I don't have to do that again. It's easier said than done I've found out- that is where the support comes in

Thanks a lot guys...have had periods of sobriety before but always fallen back down. This is the first time I've decided not to go it alone. Hoping that SR will finally make the difference for me
