Into the lions den
Into the lions den
Well, tonight I picked up a guest Bartending shift in the party beach town where I did the majority of my drinking .... I really couldn't turn it down if I wanted to because money is so tight right now... Guest Bartending is basically where you go and work at a bar that you don't normally work at and usually it's expected that you'll get hammered ... 50% if the time with these I've usually ended up blacked out .... Usually they throw shots at you as soon as you walk in the door ... There's no accountability really because you're not on payroll ... All my old party crew will be there ... That being said, I will not drink, I'm making this promise to all of you, and to myself ... I'll let you know in several hours of my success over temptation...
Ha ha I know I know believe me, there are probably more triggers here than in a gun shop ha ha but I'll be fine, and I bartended all weekend without drinking just fine .... Bottom line is I need to pay rent this month and so far it's been a terrible month for money so I have to do this ... I'm amassing my willpower as we speak ... I'll be fine though
You can do it. I've had to be in lion's dens before too. After initially having to let others know that you aren't drinking (which can be difficult) you're golden. People might offer you a drink more than once but all you gotta say is "no thanks, I'm good", simple as that. If they keep pressuring you they are immature jerks, just sayin:-)

Good luck to ya. Come back and tell us again that you got it Keep the promise to yourself first, because you are the most important person to keep it for in the end.
And.....you'll shoot your eye out.
And.....you'll shoot your eye out.
Well it went very well. I didn't drink. I actually didn't want to. Seeing all the hammered people was so ugly and unappealing I had no desire to drink. My best friend fell off the wagon after 8 weeks, but he wasn't really intending to quit for good. I tell ya what though he went right back to being a really annoying sloppy drunk in a matter of 2 hours. It made me realize just how much I don't want to go back. All in all tonight was a success for me, and I made some money ... Score
