day 3 need to succeed this time round
Welcome Darren. Pull up a chair and grab some popcorn. It seems we all have problems after a few days. Boredom, loneliness, and regret pushes our buttons and makes us think why not?!? Well we all know why not, or we wouldn't be here.
If you get to forgetting why you quit, just make a thread and ask... someone will be along shortly to remind you why we are all here.
If you feel like crying, make a thread and someone will be there holding your hand and crying right along with you.
If you feel like screaming, make a thread and be prepared for a group of us to scream right beside you, at whatever is making you scream.
In my short time here I have learned much, about other people and myself. What keeps me coming back in my times of need and times of triumph is simple.
We will get through this together.

I'm glad you came here because if it's one thing this website offers, it's support.
Like you, I too flip out after a short period of time (or I have in the past, at least) and gone back to my drug of choice. This time I am trying everything I can to prevent that.
One thing I can say is that if you change habits after getting sober, even at the very beginning of sobriety, it will help. Do anything to pass the cravings you will have- listening to music for example. That is what I do to get through my drug cravings. Come here and post, just do ANYTHING other than running back to old habits and old drugs.
The idea is to change how you react to the outside world. When you are coming out of an addiction, suddenly everything in the world is going to be big and scary. You're not going to feel that you can handle it. That is how I felt on day 1. But as I go through day 3 and 4, I find that I am handling things much better than I thought I could.
Keep this in your mind as you go through this. Give yourself a pat on the back for the small victories. If you pass a craving, congratulate yourself on doing so. If you stumble a little, don't be hard on yourself. Just pick yourself up and keep going.
And keep posting here. I've only been here for a few days and already I feel a difference. Connecting with those who have been there will be tremendously beneficial for you.

Hi It helped me to keep a diary and write down how I was feeling, both physically and emotionally for a week or so - it helps to look at it, if you get tempted in the future.
Glad to have you with us!!
