30 Days
Hey everyone. Just wanted to share I am officially 30 days sober today. To some this may not seem like much but I feel stronger than ever I am really done this time. I celebrated this milestone by riding my bike in 27 degree weather a few miles to an AA meeting where I met my sponsor and best friend's dad. He's been sober since we were kids but he introduced me to my sponsor as his second son so that meant a lot. Years ago I used to ride my bike in freezing weather....drunk and/or hungover to the liquor store for beer, home from the bar, over to friends to drink. Even in the freezing cold , this ride was more calm and serene than any of that. And I didn't feel like death doing it! I just wanted to say, to fellow newcomers, the days do add up and thank you to SR for this forum. I truly believe regardless of whatever program you use, alcoholism is not an all illness someone can beat all by themselves.
