Another bad day...

....bad work day, frustration of difficult people and situations getting to me, acted in an unprofessional way in a meeting and was called on it, anxiety is worse than ever. But I refuse to drink. 14 days.

I'm sorry you had a bad day at work. Some days work really sucks. I'm so glad you didn't drink - congrats on day 14!

Bad days happen whether we're sober or not. But sober makes it easier to deal with things.

It may have been a bad day but still far better than if it had been a bad day and then you drank. Way to go on two weeks!

Sorry about the bad day Any. Had a few of those myself. Still do once in awhile.

Good news is that kind of stuff usually only happens once now. If someone corrects me on being a crab or whatnot, I only need the lesson once. If I were drinking, I'd have to go through it again and again. Heaven knows I wasn't listening most of the time then.

Never underestimate the power of a heartfelt I'm sorry. Thank you for pointing it out and I won't do that again. I've gained many coworkers and friends respect back now even though I'm far from perfect. Most people aren't looking for perfect. They are just looking for honest. Just what I found anyway.

Chin up! Great job on the 14 days!

It's ok to be an idiot sometimes - but drunk and an idiot - not so good. Congrats hang in there.

Sleep is definitely a good option.

It's still early days and your body is going through a lot of changes. Go easy on yourself.

I'm thrilled you chose not to drink though. Try to bide your time with work issues, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking a drink would be an answer to relax from a situation.

Good for you for refusing to drink, that's huge. You have plenty of time to work on your coping skills. I'm in the same sub 30-day transition period as you, it's not easy.

I sometimes take an over-the-counter med that contains 3 mg of melatonin and 200 mg of L-theanine. It's intended as a sleep aid but doesn't put me to sleep - just makes me really calm. Then I can relax and go to sleep.
