Went to my first ever AA meeting

And it was wonderful! they had a whole discussion on step on just for me! and I got my beginner chip and everyone clapped. After, two girls my age gave me their numbers to call any time! I can't wait to go back tomorrow. I am gonna go every day. What a great thing to finally do! Day two and feeling like with AA I can make it stick! Just got to cure boredom in the afternoons.

I'm glad you found it useful and meaningful. It always helps to have face to face support.

Congrats. YOur going to find good meetings and bad meetings. A wise friend told me the most value is in the worst meeting and in the best meeting you go to. Keep it in mind on the journey. Good luck!

SFMS, I'm so happy for you! I love AA. It has changed my entire outlook on the world. I hope it works for you, too.

Congratulations and welcome to AA :-) I LOVE going to meetings and have also realized that they (and the fellowship) are what is going to keep me sober.

At a meeting yesterday another newbie said he thinks of going to meetings like he thought of going to the icecream shop. He is addicted to meetings, and I feel the same. Go to as many as you can. If you aren't comfortable sharing, don't worry about it, you will get there. Have a great meeting today!!!

Great job! I love to share at meetings. I tell myself that even if 1 sentence I say helps someone, then I did a good deed. I also sometimes need to hear my thoughts out loud.

My first meeting is tonight at 7pm. It's encouraging that you enjoyed it. I'm kind of nervous but reading this makes me feel at ease. I too hope to go weekly and remain clean and sober for life.
