Hi
I'm an alcoholic and ready to make the changes needed to reclaim my life.
I am blessed with a wonderful wife and children who have stuck with me through thick and thin.
Although I've avoided major alcohol related disasters so far, I feel like I'm on borrowed time and it is just a matter of time until something bad happens. I'm tired of that constant feeling of dread. I also want my family to be proud of me. I'm a former Marine and lifelong musician. I also grew up in an abusive family. Although non-drinkers, my parents believed that beatings and verbal abuse is how you raised children. As someone with an addictive personality, the combo of those 3 factors has resulted in drinking a pint of bourbon on an almost daily basis for the last 10 years.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I look forward to getting to know you.

I've been reading various threads on here for hours. I wish I could go back in time and warn the younger me of what could happen.
I'm excited (and anxious) about what the future holds.
Thanks for the kind welcome.
