Yellow
Yellow
My friend is in acute care for liver failure. He has been there about 10 days. His body & eyes are yellow, his abdomen distended, he is losing blood and his liver is functioning at about 10%. All I can do is be a friend and be honest with him in all ways.
When I got sober in 2011, he was one of the few from my drunk days that was still my friend. He never made sh*t comments about my sobriety when others did. I tried to show him a better way & I am not giving up now.
He is 43 years old.
Please take getting sober seriously. Your body will not forgive you forever, you will pay the price. There is no moderation and pretty soon there are no more chances. I hope it is not too late for my friend. Every life is so valuable. Think of what we can do sober! Change our world, and others too. Never give up.
It's Labor Day weekend here in the U.S. Please be sober.

I'm sorry you have to see your friend in such a horrible place! I know its scary and heartbreaking. Thanks for the reminder of what this disease can do if left untreated. Its not a game, its for real life and death and eventually we have to pay the consequences.
Take care!!

Hi MsJax, I'm so sorry that the reality of alcohol abuse has hit you so close to home. If anything positive comes of out of this, it is the hope that a newbie or oldbie will see these consequences of ETOH abuse, reach deep into their souls and change their destructive behavior before it gets to your very young friends state of deteriorating health. May God comfort you and help your friend during this health crisis. Hug to you and to all those out there suffering from addictions destructive path. TF
