Two weeks...
Two weeks...
Today is Day 15, which means I have been through 14 nights completely sober (two weekends drink free!). I couldn't have done it without you guys. It's getting easier. This weekend wasn't nearly as bad as last weekend, and even though it was stressful, I didn't consider drinking. I'm not in the clear or letting my guard down though. I've lost a few pounds, I'm sleeping better, and I don't have the guilt and anxiety every morning. The latter one alone makes it all worth it. If I can get through Day 18 it will be the longest sober period I've had since I first started drinking. That'll be a cause for sober celebration! Smart Recovery has been a big help as well as interpersonal support and SR. So, once again, thanks!
Glad you've got some sober momentum going, CriticalMass. And congrats on two weeks!
Definitely important to keep your guard up. One of those things that trips a lot of people up is the dreaded 'pink cloud' where the positive feelings make one forget the negative stuff recently experienced. Sounds like you're well-aware of it. Going forward with vigilance & celebration... that's what kept me staying sober, as well as so many others I know.
Glad to have you here! Keep up the good stuff!
