Never thought I'd be sober on July 4th

But I was and its without a doubt one of the best days I've ever had! I'm on my 4th day today and feel amazing. The fog has lifted and I feel truly present. I know I have a lot of work to do. Finding this website has done so much for my feelings of isolation and shame. Thanks to you all.

Hello Jen,

I agree with you 100%.

This 4th of July was the first in my adult life that I was sober and did not even consider drinking.

Feels great!

mecanix, the 4th of July is all about cookouts and get togethers and the day off from work, and for us alcoholics, a drinking day! No work!
