My AV is acting up early trying to make his own plan , so I need to stay on top of it. I don't have any plan for the 4th . Gotta work Friday then camping Sat thru Sun. Jeeping on the 4th, washing truck on the 5th (day), going to the minor league game that night, setting up for a party Saturday morning, going to a wedding Saturday afternoon, DJ'ing the party Saturday night, and hopefully nothing on Sunday. I'm tired just thinking of it all. Only good thing is that I know I won't be hungover!

Think I'm going to a backyard barbeque with my good friends--all who know of and support my non-drinking. If I don't stay there the whole day/night I might go climb one of the "mountains" outside my city and watch some fireworks.

Bottle rockets not bottles!

Going to see fireworks and taking a picnic for the kids. Strongest thing I'll be drinking is iced tea.

This will be my first sober 4th of July for as long as I can remember.

My husband and I will be going to visit my Grandfather and Dad out of town... and kayaking in the lake, grilling some food, and sipping on some bubbly seltzer with juice over ice

Mama Non is visiting, and my wife has two broken feet, so we will probably stay at home. Hopefully if the weather is nice we can have a BBQ. I'll be drinking iced tea and cranberry/ginger ale. I have a few cigars - my big vice these days.

Hey Ricky! Great to have this holiday thread to stay sober with!

I am in! All in!

Tonight is my tough time. So getting on a train to NYC for a sunset walk by the water. Keep me away from the bar during that time.

How are you doing? How are you going to handle tonight?

Ken

At the moment i'm watching wimbledon tennis and plucking at my guitar .

My 20 year old SL500 went through the ministry of transport test yesterday with no problems , although there are a few things i want to do on it as i like to see a fine old machine like that purring along one of the few things in life i know i can get right .

Bestwishes, m

Anyone can celebrate their independence from alcohol and drugs. Just get on board the Clean and Sober Train.

We are going to a friends bbq and I am worried because she is one of my drinking buddies and since I just started, I have told anyone I stopped drinking. I'm thinking of going with "I have a kidney infection and can't drink"

Yeh i'm up for another sober day , looks like the weather might be nice tomorow . I might go and look at the ducks in the park up the road , the coots there have big green feet which i find quite facinating , i can watch them whilst pretending to read the financial times .
They kinda look like they have borrowed a bigger birds boots , like when i used to stomp round in my dad's work boots as a kid .

Bestwishes, m

Funny thing......I used to drink so I would feel comfortable in a group of people, now that I no longer drink, I am not interested in hanging out with groups of people. A bit of hermit am I.
That said, I am going to go to a barbeque for a couple of hours on Thursday, but will be home long before folks get out of control.
Although I think the fireworks are beautiful, having to mingle with all those people......not my cup of tea.
I will be safe at home keeping the dog calm from the booms and bangs.

Sounds great, Rick. I am planning to grill out, as well. First sunny day since Mama Non came to visit. She brought a bunch of rain with her!

Not sure what tomorrow will bring - but it will be sober.

Enjoy the Great Outdoors! Watch out for them skeeters.

I just arrived in Vermont with the wife and kid. We are visiting my family, and hope to get some fishing in. It will be tough, but sobriety is the only option.

I'm with you all! Had planned to take today off to head up to Philadelphia early but then had a meeting scheduled on me at the last minute at 4:30PM (by a Brit...hmmm....think it was on purpose? Payback? J/K )

So hitting a meeting tonight and then getting up early to make the drive up. Tomorrow is grilling and maybe some fireworks. Don't know yet. Just know I will be staying sober and checking in here.

See you all later!

I'm going to enjoy my blood pressure as it gradually calms down to normal levels for an otherwise healthy 26 year old.
