Leaving for detox tonight
My family is driving me down tonight and I am staying with a friend and she will drive me in tomorrow. I have somehow ended up with extra Valium though, dr over prescribed.
Scared. Teary. Gojng to miss the kids so much and my husband. He said it will be easier without me for awhile.
Very scared of two week detox from up to 100mg val a day but we will see what happens I guess. Plus the codeine.
I am currently packing and wrapping a present for each child to open each morning I'm gone. 5 x 14 is alot of presents to wrap! I'm sure someone will say I'm trying to compensate or buy their love. Whatever. Just trying to put a little smile of their face each morning with things like whoopie cushions and bubbles and car mags for the older ones.
Wish me luck those of you who are still speaking to me. See you on the other side hopefully.

I wish you well MLC. I'm sure you can do this. I'd suggest taking time each day to think about what it will be like to finally be free from the substances that have enslaved you.
And even though you will be away from your family, two weeks really isn't that long.

Good luck MLC. Please be careful with the extra Valium, consider leaving what you don't need at home. The absolute last thing you need is to OD the night before detox.
You are doing the right thing...and it won't be nearly as scary as you imagine. The 2 weeks will fly by. And you will be bringing your kids and husband home a gift much more valuable than anything you could ever buy and wrap for them...a sober mom and wife.
It won't be easy, but it will be with it. Treat it like your last chance...because it may very well be. Make it work and last. Well be here for you. Blessings and safe travels.

This is wonderful news MLC. The best I have heard all day. I know that you are scared. It is perfectly acceptable to be scared. You are doing the best thing that you can for yourself and your family. The presents for the children is really sweet. I know that they will enjoy their little gifts. Take care of yourself MLC. We will see you when you get back!
I wish you peace, serenity, love, compassion and everything your heart desires MLC. Not what our head desires with addiction...but our hearts. You deserve all the good that life offers. Now go out there and do what you have to do. I will be waiting to hear from you.
