I wanted to let all my cyber peeps on SR know that I appreciate your recovery efforts. Recovery is hard. It is something that you work on on a daily basis. You do this because for many it really is a life or death issue. There may be people in your life that do not realize how hard it is for you; how much effort you put in to staying clean and sober. I know how it feels to not have those efforts recognized. We don't want a pat on the back and told how awesome we are for staying clean and sober. What we want is for people to respect our efforts in the simple ways such as to not drink or use in front of us and to not talk or smell like our drug of choice. While our life is different here in cyberspace, I still want you to know that I still appreciate your recovery efforts
