Class of March 2011 Part 20
Congratulations on 2 years Toto and glad you popped in to say hello.
Mirage I am glad you posted Motrin it gave me a good laugh even though it was at my poor reading skills, I have a warped sense of humour and the thought of Dee spraying himself with mortine to get rid of a bad back was toooooo funny.
Day 5.
Have a good one everyone!

Morning! Hope all are doing well today.
I've got some writing planned for today.
Tomorrow heading down the Shore to do a 10 mile race (15K)
(It's Cape May to Wildwood, Bryan.)
It was my first distance race three years ago....I had been sober for two months.... I had the BEST TIME. When I passed the finish mark, I didn't know that I was supposed to stop running so that the race official could take a little tab off the number pinned to my shirt. I wanted to just Keep Running so I did.
The official yelled, "RUNNER! STOP!" I was so happy and surprised. ME? He called me RUNNER? It was the first time that anyone had called me that or I had thought of myself that way.
If the weather cooperates, with low wind, I'm going for a Personal Best. I've been resting my legs this week so I'll have plenty of energy.

That story is so cute, frances. Good luck with your race! I have a similar type story..when I was in high school, I was playing a tennis match at the state tournament. I've never advanced at a state tourney far enough to have a judge..that's for like the semi-finals on up, or something, but one time I was serving and I hear "FAULT!". I got a foot fault called on me and I was so excited cuz I got judged by a judge! haha. Same type thing as yours. Anyway, hope it goes great.
So...with out of town relatives in for birthday weekend, we decided to go to the museum to see a traveling exhibit. My daughter was a little surprised when we got there that we were seeing the Dead Sea Scrolls. She had told all her friends we were going to see the dead sea squirrels. Ha! She'll be a long time living that one down!
Good luck with the run Frances!
LOL the tennis story Mirage.
Lofty I used to love going to the museum when I was a kid, big old spooky type place, an Aunty used to take us and spoil us rotten for the day, great memories!
Another sober day under my belt. I have been for my early morning walk but its not so cool today we are having a late couple of hot days over 30 degrees *just when I thought summer was finally gone* a storm forcast for today and tomorrow .

Ahhh...made it through another birthday week. I am grateful for that, and for all the well- wishes received here. And I have to admit that the birthday wishes I received from so many fb friends made me feel loved as well.
I have a sense that my 50s are going to be good. It feels good to be optimistic.
Thanks too for the support here on the sober front. I feel great in only 18 days, and I feel blessed to have not struggled much with becoming sober again. And, my head and emotions have leveled off well in a short period of time with no booze or drugs. I thank God for the severe cold that was the catalyst for change.
Hope all have a great weekend. Sorry about the snow some of us may get this weekend!

Lofty, yay! YOUR 50S ARE GOING TO BE YOUR BEST YEARS EVER.
Heading out in 2 hours for the weekend.
Had a CRAZY GOOD new-client phone call yesterday. Seriously. This guy is a PLAYER. A door I could have never seen coming. I am going to run through it full-tilt. Look out world, HERE I COME!
