Do we only have two choices?
Do addicts ever get better...really? Do we truly only have two choices here? (1) to live with the addict (even if they are in recovery), knowing that anytime they could relapse? (2) to leave forever...knowing that they NEVER change...simply because they will never have the control over addiction? Are there only these two choices????

Why are you focusing the addict and not you?
The lesson you should be learning from your time here is there is a way for you to be sane and even happy regardless of whether the addict is using or not. But if you keep your focus on the addict, you will not know peace.

in life that are NO guarantees, except that one day OUR life will come to a conclusion. we get one life, one chance....and thus should make the most of it!! the REAL option is to live that one precious life to the fullest. whatever your belief in a Higher Power, that is pretty much the mandate. you are here - make the most of it!!!!
it comes back to what boundaries WE have in place, that give us guidance and protection on what we will and will NOT allow in our lives. boundaries give US power, not them. our lives are not dependent on what others do, we have full control of our reaction and response.
think of it like AAA auto coverage. that card provides us with a plan in the event something unexpected goes awry.
