If I carry on....
Hey, Ive been drinking for the past 4 weeks everyday (except a couple of days). I drink a quarter of a 70cl bottle of vodka at least each time I drink. I dont feel like Im physically addicted yet, although I am def mentally addicted. Im having my first AA meeting tonight and am just a bit scared...
Am I on the road to becoming alcohol dependent???
Any advice on this and how to stop it would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello and Welcome to Sober Recovery!
No one here can diagnose you- but, since
you do not want to drink have you tried to
stop for a time? Or, have you ever decided
to limit yourself or plan in advance how much/how
often you will drink? If so, are you able to stick to
the plan? You will find plenty of support here on this
site - keep posting and let us all know how you're doing.

Majik:
Only you can decide if you have a drinking problem or if you are an alcoholic. The amount and frequency you drink is irrelevant if it causes problems for you.
You are certainly moving down the road to recovery by taking steps like coming to SR and going to an AA meeting. Don't be scared, each and every one of the people there came for the same reason you are - to stop drinking ( assuming that is your plan ). There is nothing they or the SR community hasn't seen before.
Just be honest with yourself and others - get the issues out there and if you desire to quit, make the decision and do it. Keep posting here and reading lots too, there is a wealth of good info about sobriety in general, and many of the recovery methods.
