Day 1 starting over....
Day 1 starting over....
I've been posting here for awhile now and i had some clean time, then slipped and now I'm back to day 1. I've been paying attention to what my body is telling me and so far it's really not that bad. I'm thankful for that cuz i have a huge week at work starting tomorrow.
You guys on this site have been really incredible!! I can't tell you how much it helps to know I'm not alone with this thing.
My husband is in the funeral business and he has seen it all first hand.
Deaths from suicide, death from alcoholism, drug overdose, intentional and accidental, smoking, which by the way, is why i quit 6 months ago. He wouldn't leave me alone about it.
3 words sum it all up after what i've learned from him and seen for myself.....

Life is so short.... but also a lot sweeter since I quit drinking. Don't get me wrong; fear was a major motivator to quit. The last year or so, I was checking my eyes for signs of jaundice. But to me, the best part I think isn't living longer, it's living better. Great job getting back on track, peanut—you're going to be really glad you didn't give up!

The fact you come back and refuse to accept the life you lead as the life you will live is the inspiration. What I have had to do these last 17 days I would not wish on any soul. This can be the last time. Remember that. And there is no relapse with out recovery, only abstanance, and abstanance is not enough. Live for the day. Second by second and minute by minute. It gets better. It really does. Have a great work week, a clean work week. With love and blessings, GM.
