Hello all
Hello everyone, I'm ready to quit drinking. I'm happy to have found this group, I will need the support. My drinking has been negatively impacting my life for years and I need to stop now. Looking forward to listening (reading) and sharing with you all.
Welcome and congrats on your decision to stop drinking. AA worked for me when all else failed but there are other ways. One thing that seldom works is will power alone.
Do your research and come up with a sobriety plan and then stick to it!

What's so awesome about having support
in recovery is that each member has their
own ESH - their own experiences, strengths
and hopes of what life was like before, during
and after whatever addiction they have to
share.
Each person is at different stages in recovery
all the way from the beginning to middle to
long term sobriety. Each brings something,
knowledge to the table to help others traveling
on their road in recovery.
The longer you hang around, the longer you
will understand how important your own
sobriety is to you and to those around you
like family and friends.
It's not important to learn everything in one
day, or a week, month or yr. Each day you
stay sober learning to incorperate the tools
and knowledge of a recovery program in ur
everyday affairs, it will insure you to a more
stable, secure foundation to live upon for
many yrs to come.
I listened, absorbed, learned and applied all
that I have learned from others and a program
of recovery each day for the past 22 yrs. and
continue to do so today in order to enjoy the
rewards, gifts of the promises provided to us
as mentioned in the Big Book of Alcoholics
Anonymous.
All that you learn and pass on to the newcomer
will insure a happier, healthier, honest rewarding
life in recovery and sobriety. It's a Gift.

Welcome to SR I am new to this site as well and 5 days sober today. I honestly don't think I would have done it without this site. I go on here alot in the mornings with my cup of coffee and it really puts a positive angel on my shoulder all day saying "you can do this" all day long instead of that tricky devil on the other shoulder saying" have a drink" One day at a time.♥
