Hi,
New to the forums. Had my last drink 11/10/12. Happy to be keeping it going, but I am afraid of backsliding.
I've white knuckled it to this point, I am open to not going this alone any more. Whether that means a program or virtual help, I'm open to it. Reading the forums have helped to keep me going.
Glad to be a part of this club.

So glad you joined us. :ghug3 There are lots of programs and methods of staying sober. You just have to find what fits you and works for you. I've been sober for three years now with the help of my counselor and daily visits to SR. I also find it helps my sobriety to be grateful for my blessings. Every day I find something to be grateful for and it makes me glad I'm sober.
So glad you found us!

Hell and welcome to SR SR was crucial for me in those early days to and there are quite a few choices of programs all of them great

Yes I am. I sat on the fence on this before. Largely its my own feelings of shame and embarassment that have kept me away.
The goal is to remain sober, I'd rather go on that ride with someone else, rather than fight against myself at times. The good me won't win everytime if I'm riding solo.
Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome AKnewMe! It's great you joined us. This is a wonderful place where we all get what you're going through.
I agree with you - trying to go it alone doesn't work. I spent so many years filled with shame, trying to hide what was happening. Once I opened up about my problem, I felt a huge relief. I hope you'll find the support and encouragement you're looking for.

Hi AKnewMe! I'm glad you found this site! You will find a lot of great info here, and someone to connect to 24-7. I've been sober for 13 days and counting...thanks to SR!
Good job on your sobriety! Do whatever it takes to keep it going!
