Day 10 Having a Hard day
I'm on Day 10 also. The urge to have a drink comes at unexpected times and can be quite strong. You know the urge won't last ... so ride it out. 10 days, to me, is a great accomplishment.
Meet me at Day 11.
Meet me at Day 11.
I found that starting over and over and over and over again trying not to drink was really a drag. It has been so much easier just toughing through the cravings to drink. I find that I feel so much stronger physically and mentally with each passing day that I am sober! A drink for me always led to a drunk. The drunk made me feel so bad about myself. It was literally eating me alive. Keep on keeping on...you can do it!
some days are hard - stick with it Geste
this technique helped me - it may help you too?

You can get past it, you have for 10 days.
Nevertheless, I'm on day 9 and feel your pain. Yesterday I was scheming how to get a drink. And not casually....I was trying like hell to find a scenario to get away for some wine. Luckily, I was able to call some friends who distracted me and by 10pm, it had passed. That's what I am finding, it ALWAYS passes and I am always so glad I didn't drink.

Straightedge,
The feelings for a drink do pass and it is so worth it when you wake up the next day knowing you didn't succumb to these feelings.
Have you had days when you woke up feeling really happy and joyous and sprung out of bed, no apparent reason why you are feeling like this, loving it wanting to hold on to it but it to passes.
Hang in there.

Sit down with pen and paper.
Write out some of your worst experiences while drinking. Now write them again, just like in grade school when practicing your ABCs.
I have a MS document that I wrote some points down on. When I wrote them, then read them they became more real for me.
Then I did not want a drink as badly.
