Quit today

How long until the irritability ends?

First day and I'm snappy and not my usual self at all. How long will this phase last?

It really won't last long, don't worry. I've been stopped I think 3 years now. ( and 5 years before then grrr!)

It's so incredibly worth it you will not regret stopping so do your best

I didn't notice at first but suddenly realised all my muscles throughout my body were tensed up even if lying down. Also was forgetting to breath! Oops See if that's happening 'cos you can do something about it.

Sending good vibes!

Thank you! At least there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm feeling very tight chested and think I've got the start of a cold, but mainly it's the general crankiness I'm struggling with. I feel like I could murder someone!!
I'm not like this at all usually!
Thanks for your reply, and well done to you for staying quit for so long!x

I felt like a had a bad flu the first 2-3 weeks. I was irritable for a few more weeks after that. Its almost 11 months now and I still crave many times a day but I just don't smoke anymore.

It will not be that way for long, I agree. I think it is different for everybody also. Hang in there. YOU are so worth this quit!

When I am irritable I usually take a walk. The fresh air helps I find.

I did a lot of walking when I first quit smoking. It helped with the irritability and the cravings.

I'm less irritable now, but I still get cravings.
Today I had a falling out with my H, and we stormed off in opposite directions.
I sooo wanted a cigarette.
I didn't buy any, but any emotional reaction from me means I automatically reach for the nicotine.
I passed the test today thankfully.

Hey, but I didn't think of a drink!!!x
