First time on this site
Hey everybody, I'm Joey. I've been wanting to quit drinking for a long time but I always get sucked into a bar somehow and rarely remember the entire night. I decided this morning (while super hungover) that I am going to stop drinking. I searched for this site so I could understand other people's battle with alcohol. My life is headed in a decent direction, but I fear that my drinking is a ticking time bomb that will blow up and send my life in a bad direction. Today is my first day being sober and I feel fantastic.

Hi, Joey. Welcome to SR.
And congrats on decision to quit drinking. Don't be afraid, a lot of people quitted drinking, so you can do it as well. Just focus on today, do not drink today, make sobriety your priority for now. Don't overwhelm yourself with worries about the future.

Welcome to SR! Great decision, no better time then today to stop the madness.
You are wise to address this while your ahead.
I also kept drinking because things were ok in my life, well we sometimes make ourselfes beleive they do. Untill everythings comes crashing down on us.

Hi Joey and Welcome to a sober Bar, where everyone knows your name. 
And we actually care and will worry if your not here. Unlike my bar friends , not one of them has ever called me to see why I am no longer there.
